Small, picturesque, and tucked into the valley of the Rif mountains, Chefchaouen is a 15th century Andalusian village that remains delightfully well-preserved. All is brilliant indigo and white, and often decorated. Wandering the steep narrows and winding alleys of the town, you pass every now and again an ornate fountain or children playing ball in the passage. The people are friendly and the surrounding view is magnificent. Chefchaouen is also a place to experience the rural atmosphere of the country while hiking the landscape or swimming in its streams. |
